Conceptually derived from a Korean idiom, “밑 빠진 독에 물 붓기” (“To pour water into a bottomless pot”), profound longing and emotional devotion do not equate to a healed relationship without reciprocal, meaningful effort put forth toward understanding.
Thinking about a misplaced feeling of growing closer—returning—to another, only to realize it as an experience of growing closer to the self, to the girl and to forgiveness. And forgiveness, not as a singular act of mercy, but a perpetual act of care and consolation of the wound which will never fully close or disappear. An eternal coming to terms with the self-betrayal of loving those who tear at the tender flesh.
